On the Pages of Vogue

Absolutely thrilled to share that my Lanceolate Brooch 2020 has made it the pages of Vogue for the January 2021 issue. Gilt Complex shines a light on all that is golden … and black. The Lanceolate Brooch is in great company with two of my favourite makers also included - Grainne Morton (working with vintage finds) and Jaqueline Cullen (carving Whitby jet and setting it with diamonds). The Lanceolate inspired two new brooches for my selection for Goldsmiths’ Fair Christmas Pop-up.

Goldsmiths Fair 2020 Goes Digital

The Goldsmiths Fair is moving online for the first time in its illustrious history. There will be lots of talks, studio tours and an exclusive online shop to let you delve into all the delights of the Fair. Cockpit Arts Online Festival of Making

Next weekend sees Cockpit Arts fling open its virtual doors and invite you to join its makers for an online Festival of Making. As part of this you can join artist Ekta Kaul and I as we take a journey into each other practices on Sunday 21 June at 11:30am on Zoom. Goldsmiths' Awards Success!

I am thrilled to share that I won an award at yesterday’s Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Awards (GCDCA) ceremony at Goldsmiths’ Hall. Nick named the ‘Jewellery Oscars’, these prestigious awards are blind judge by a panel of industry experts. I am delighted to have been given a Bronze Award in the Fashion Led Conceptual Design category of this year’s GCDCA. It is such a privilege to be selected, and I was blown away last night by the extraordinary calibre of entries across the board. You can see my work alongside that if all the winners this week at Goldsmiths Hall. The 3D entries are exhibited in my favourite room at the Hall, well worth a visit if you have time, full details below.

Feminist Jewellery with a Medieval Twist - Rue Pigalle Blog

Future Icons Pop Up - Register now

Come along to the beautiful Goldsmiths’ Centre next week to visit the Future Icons and Goldsmiths Centre collaborative Pop Up. Shine 2019 Opens at The Goldsmiths' Centre

I am thrilled to be part of this annual showcase of new talent at the Centre. Selected as one of 10 emerging jewellers and silversmiths you can see all of our work at the Centre in Britton Street, Clerkenwell until the 1st of November. You can also purchase the work online until the new year through the Centre’s new online shop here.

The exhibition highlights a fantastic cross section of contemporary practice ranging from 3D printed boxes of tricks by Will Sharp, to Akansha Sethi’s beautiful use of coloured stones inspired by India, and the playful punk animals of Aurelie Dellasanta. Do pop along if you have a chance.

New Work at The Scottish Gallery

Earlier in the summer I sent some new pieces to The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. I was inspired to work in a palette of sumptuous reds and greys. The consignment included this new brooch and its sister statement pendant inspired by the elegant designs of Robert Adams’ iconic ceiling roses. Dazzle Dovecot is Open until 26th August

These candy coloured summer mismatch pairs of Cloud Arch earrings and studs are available throughout the Edinburgh Festival at the Dovecot in Edinburgh. They are part of this year’s iconic Dazzle showcase of contemporary jewellery with many of my favourite jewellers on show it will be a real treat. You can also catch a solo show of work by the wonderful Grayson Perry at the Dovecot - so a stop well worth putting on your festival itinerary. Enjoy x

Cockpit Arts and Newby Trust Craft Excellence Award

A couple of weeks ago I moved into my new studio for the year at Cockpit Arts Holborn site. Alongside contemporary embroiderer and artist Richard McVetis I am thrilled tho have been selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the Cockpit Arts and Newby Trust Craft Excellence Award. I am going to use my time at Cockpit to focus on developing a new body of work inspired by my many collections of found and acquired objects. I am really looking forward to being a part of this thriving community of makers and I look forward to welcoming you to their famous open studios at the end of November.

Brooch of the month...

Over the last few years collector Joanna Sterling and I have forged a lovely relationship over our shared passion for the ‘brooch’. I am pleased to let you know that my 3 Queens from The Modern Rococo Collection is the Brooch of the Month on her website this April. Christmas Shows

My jewellery has been selected for 3 high profile seasonal gallery shows over this Christmas. As a long time admirer of Dazzle, the annual curated contemporary jewellery show at Oxo Tower Gallery on London’s Southbank, I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit for the first time this year. As well as the fantastic Dazzle@oxo I am also showing alongside talented designers at both the Craft Centre and Design Gallery in Leeds and at New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. Featuring at Gill Wing Jewellery this Christmas

My work is now being showcased at the gorgeous Gill Wing contemporary jewellery shop in Islington, London - who describe my jewellery as ‘sumptuous silhouettes in mixed materials’.
