Shine 2019 Opens at The Goldsmiths' Centre
New Work at The Scottish Gallery
I am thrilled to be part of this annual showcase of new talent at the Centre. Selected as one of 10 emerging jewellers and silversmiths you can see all of our work at the Centre in Britton Street, Clerkenwell until the 1st of November. You can also purchase the work online until the new year through the Centre’s new online shop here.
The exhibition highlights a fantastic cross section of contemporary practice ranging from 3D printed boxes of tricks by Will Sharp, to Akansha Sethi’s beautiful use of coloured stones inspired by India, and the playful punk animals of Aurelie Dellasanta. Do pop along if you have a chance.
Dazzle Dovecot is Open until 26th August
Earlier in the summer I sent some new pieces to The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh. I was inspired to work in a palette of sumptuous reds and greys. The consignment included this new brooch and its sister statement pendant inspired by the elegant designs of Robert Adams’ iconic ceiling roses. You can peruse and buy my work from The Scottish Gallery here.
Cockpit Arts and Newby Trust Craft Excellence Award
These candy coloured summer mismatch pairs of Cloud Arch earrings and studs are available throughout the Edinburgh Festival at the Dovecot in Edinburgh. They are part of this year’s iconic Dazzle showcase of contemporary jewellery with many of my favourite jewellers on show it will be a real treat. You can also catch a solo show of work by the wonderful Grayson Perry at the Dovecot - so a stop well worth putting on your festival itinerary. Enjoy x
Brooch of the month...
A couple of weeks ago I moved into my new studio for the year at Cockpit Arts Holborn site. Alongside contemporary embroiderer and artist Richard McVetis I am thrilled tho have been selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the Cockpit Arts and Newby Trust Craft Excellence Award. I am going to use my time at Cockpit to focus on developing a new body of work inspired by my many collections of found and acquired objects. I am really looking forward to being a part of this thriving community of makers and I look forward to welcoming you to their famous open studios at the end of November.
Over the last few years collector Joanna Sterling and I have forged a lovely relationship over our shared passion for the ‘brooch’. I am pleased to let you know that my 3 Queens from The Modern Rococo Collection is the Brooch of the Month on her website this April. Click here to link to her lovely write up about the 3 Queens and how we met. This is yours truly wearing an early prototype, one of my favourite brooches to wear, it is always complimented for its quirky energy and graphic lines.
Made at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
This week I am pleased to share that I have joined LoveDazzle.com - the online showroom curated by the team responsible for the Dazzle contemporary jewellery shows. I am featured maker this month for the newsletter and on the blog. Read the interview with me here.
As blossom signals the arrival of spring so my shows for the year start. You can find my work now until June at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) as part of their seasonal MADE Showcase. MADE is YSP Shop's changing programme of contemporary craft and applied arts which showcases the work of established and up-and-coming artists, designers and makers.
Featuring at Gill Wing Jewellery this Christmas
My jewellery has been selected for 3 high profile seasonal gallery shows over this Christmas. As a long time admirer of Dazzle, the annual curated contemporary jewellery show at Oxo Tower Gallery on London’s Southbank, I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit for the first time this year. As well as the fantastic Dazzle@oxo I am also showing alongside talented designers at both the Craft Centre and Design Gallery in Leeds and at New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. Do pop along and check out these shows if you are in the area. Full details can be found on my CV page.
New Designers - One Year In
My work is now being showcased at the gorgeous Gill Wing contemporary jewellery shop in Islington, London - who describe my jewellery as ‘sumptuous silhouettes in mixed materials’. This beautiful showroom is home to many of my favourite jewellers so you should go along and check it out. I will have work there over Christmas and into the new year.

Pearl Exhibition at The Scottish Gallery
Goldsmiths’ Centre in London have written about their Getting Started alumni from this year who will be exhibiting at New Designers. It’s great introduction to the 10 of us that will be showing as part of the curated One Year In showcase next week. I am so looking forward to catching up with all of these guys and seeing their fantastic new work. Hope to see you there.
Joining the London Creative Network
I am delighted to share that I am showing work in The Scottish Gallery’s Pearl exhibition in June. An exhibition celebrating the use of pearls in contemporary jewellery featuring work from: Marianne Anderson, Ella Fearon-Low, Elizabeth Jane Campbell, Etsuko Sonobe, Ruth Tomlinson and Misun Won. I have made some new pieces for the show including these deep blue Flying Cloud Earrings with gold - I love the slightly classical twist that these colours bring to this design. The exhibition is live online from today.
Brooches are back.
This week I have been at Cockpit Arts studios having induction sessions for the London Creative Network (LCN) programme. I am really excited to be part of this dynamic offering and have already met some great fellow craftspeople and artists. Find out more about LCN at Cockpit.
Janet Fitch has featured my work in her April Column on the return of the brooch in Jewellery Focus Magazine. It's lovely to see my work alongside talented makers such as Melanie Georgacopoulos and Amanda Denison. I really am passionate about brooches, wearing them and making them so this feels very apt. Janet also included collector Joanna Sterling who acquired my 3 Queens Brooch for her collection in 2017. See the full 3 page article here.
